Subject: Policy for holiday days off
Management has considered the many variables
involved in scheduling time off for holidays and has
chosen a policy that should fit our corporate structure.
There are two sections of the policy described below:
holiday vacation and personal days off.
Holiday Vacation
You will be assigned a group number within your department. This group
number is based on your job description. The numbers will vary depending
on your group;
but essentially people from the same group will not be taking the same
vacation holidays. This will allow each department to have at least one
person of each
job description in the office at the same time, keeping the department
complete and functionable. This policy is in addition to the company’s mandatory
vacation days – those days when the office is closed.
Employees with the same group numbers can swap days as they wish, following
the approval of their department manager. In most circumstances, if there is
a discrepancy the decision will be made based on seniority.
Personal Days off
Personal day policies will remain the same with one exception. Employees
who wish to work through some vacation days may add those worked days to
their
personal days for later use. For example, if Jane Doe doesn’t choose
to celebrate Christmas Eve, she may work that day and add an extra day
to her personal days for a summer vacation. We feel this new policy is fair
to everyone
and we have implemented all possible scenarios in the hopes of suiting
the needs of all employees to the best of our ability.
